One of Asia’s largest taxi companies will be transitioning their 25,000-strong fleet of vehicles to electric models. To mark World Environment Day, Indonesia’s Bluebird Group are taking up the #BeatAirPollution mantle to lead a mass movement towards electric vehicle adoption in Indonesia. Recognizing the importance of tackling air pollution in the country, the company plans to gradually replace conventionally powered vehicles to become the largest commercial electric vehicle fleet owner and operator in Indonesia. For Bluebird, the phase-out of combustion-engine vehicles begins at home. Management’s company cars will be among those replaced in the switch. And recognizing its extensive network and partnerships in the archipelago, Bluebird will also prioritize working with those organizations that are aligned with similar environmental goals.
