To mark World Environment Day 2025, UNEP will host a regional webinar in partnership with the University Consortium for Sustainable Waste Management in Latin America and the Caribbean. This one-hour session will highlight the role of academia in advancing knowledge, innovation, and green skills to combat plastic pollution. Speakers from universities in Mexico and Colombia will present experiences in plastic waste valorization, green jobs, and circular economy training. The event will also reflect on regional policy frameworks and UNEP’s strategic initiatives to tackle plastic pollution across the lifecycle.
