Location: European Committee of the Regions, VMA building, Rue van Maerlant 2, 1040 Brussels, Belgium
This high-level event, hosted by the European Committee of the Regions, is organized by UNEP as part of the World Environmental Day 2025 campaign. The dialogue aims to bring together different generations to explore the past, present, and future of plastics, and to generate actionable solutions for a plastic-free future.
This event offers a unique opportunity to engage EU policymakers, youth, representatives from subnational authorities, and civil society to discuss the impact of plastics and inspire collective action to mitigate this global issue. Key themes and questions will relate to the history and evolution of plastic use; impacts of plastic pollution; actions to address plastic pollution: recycling and waste management; alternatives and solutions.
