In alignment with the Honourable Prime Minister of India’s 2018 commitment to phase out single-use plastics and support UNEP’s Global Clean Seas Campaign, the UN Environment Programme is convening a high-level industry roundtable to highlight industry-led solutions and partnerships that are helping reduce plastic pollution and to chart a forward-looking roadmap for scaling up sustainable practices. The roundtable will bring together leaders from key industries to share initiatives, challenges, and strategies for tackling plastic pollution, especially in the context of India’s policy actions, including bans on single-use plastic items and extended producer responsibility (EPR) for plastic packaging. To highlight industry-led solutions and partnerships that are helping reduce plastic pollution and to chart a forward-looking roadmap for scaling up sustainable practices.
