With support from the UNEP India office, the Indian Association of Parliamentarians for Population and Development - an entity comprising Members of Parliament of Government of India from all political parties - has confirmed a reach out to the MPs for celebrating WED 2025 on 5 June in their constituencies.

Some State Governments are planning to announce, 'Plastic Free' Biosphere reserves, national parks and Ramsar sites. Government of Tamil Nadu, for example, has confirmed that the Chief Minister himself will make the announcement on 5th June 2025 at a public event.
