This year’s World Environment Day will mobilize communities across the globe to implement and advocate for lasting solutions to #BeatPlasticPollution. As the host country of this year’s World Environment Day, the Republic of Korea will highlight its national efforts to tackle plastic pollution. His Excellency KANG Hyungshik, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Korea to UNEP, will deliver a keynote address on the country’s initiatives and progress. The event will feature a panel discussion followed by an interactive Q&A session.
Nairobi's observation of World Environment Day will also mark the official launch of the Global Plastics Hub (GPH), a key digital platform designed to catalyze collective global action towards ending plastic pollution. The GPH is a one-stop global hub for sharing knowledge and data, guiding countries in evidence-based policymaking, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders.
