To mark World Environment Day 2025, Mexico will launch its National Beach and Coastal Clean-Up and Conservation Campaign 2025–2030 with a flagship event in Puerto Progreso, Yucatán. The day will begin at dawn with volunteer-led clean-up brigades, followed by a formal ceremony with high-level authorities including the Minister of Environment, the Governor of Yucatán, and UNEP’s Deputy Director for Latin America and the Caribbean. The campaign emphasizes public participation, inter-state coordination, and long-term action to combat plastic pollution and protect marine ecosystems. Simultaneous activities will take place in Guerrero, Jalisco, Quintana Roo, and Baja California.
